Living Education is not an accredited university or college, but we are serious about the classes we teach. Please expect to come to study, as well as to enjoy making friends and having a lot of fun as well!
Here are some tips about our different classes.
Survey of the Bible
Mr. Ken Frank is the instructor for “Survey of the Bible”. This class reviews the whole Bible over the course of two semesters, so be prepared to hang on tight! You’ll need to purchase “Encountering the Old Testament”, Arnold & Beyer, 3rd edition ( please ensure that the book your order is the 3rd edition) before arriving.
Mr. Frank gives a great deal of interesting information about each book of the Bible.
Christian Living
Mr. Jonathan McNair is the instructor for this class. No textbook is required, as the materials will be made available electronically in the first semester. By the way, the second semester does have a required book purchase. On another note, Mr. McNair does not allow electronic devices to be used in the classroom, so prepare a notebook for note-taking. You can transfer your notes to an electronic form after class if you wish. There are quite a few readings required for this class, with an emphasis on learning to assimilate knowledge and develop understanding.
Introduction to Biblical Doctrine
Mr. Wayne Tlumak teaches this class as well as the Christian Living Class, with guest lecturers coming in on occasion. Though no textbook is required to be purchased, it is important for you to bring a NKJV Bible with you to this class. If you do not have a wide-margin NKJV Bible, it is important to procure one before coming. No electronic devices are allowed for note-taking in this class. No textbook required – materials will be made available electronically
Christian Finance
Mr. Jerry Ruddlesden is the Instructor for this course. The textbook will be provided for you on the first day of class along with supplemental material(s) as we progress through the course. Students will need to bring their NKJV Bible with them to class each session along with their personal computer. We will mainly use Microsoft Office and specifically Excel and Word for our exercises.
Public Speaking
Mr. Dexter Wakefield is the instructor for this class, which is basically our “speech class”, based on good, Biblical principles of communication. With this class, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about how to communicate clearly and effectively, and also practice what you learn in speeches that you’ll give to the class. No textbook is required for this class.
Vocal Ensemble
Mr. Jake Boyer teaches this class. No textbook is required – materials will be made available electronically.
Writing Workshop
In Writing Workshop, Mrs. Eva Veronese will discuss how to format and structure academic essays, how to present written ideas clearly and effectively, and how to lessen the anxiety of writing. The goal of this workshop is to strengthen our understanding of sentence structure, grammar, capitalization, punctuation, essay formatting, and MLA style. If, at the end of this course, we’re all writing with more confidence and capability than we were when the course started, our goals will have been met.
Putting the Fruit of the Spirit to Work
Instructor TBA
While our program does not charge tuition for classes, this program fee helps to defray the cost of the church-provided housing, utilities, internet, activities, and a variety of other associated costs to provide the framework in which to learn. For our nine-month program, this fee is assessed at the beginning of each month for a total of nine payments.
See Payment Schedule Agreement Form 2024 for more details.
Please note that the enrollment deposit of $300 is due on July 1. This counts toward your first program fee payment.
When you log into your Populi account, you will notice three things (beginning approximately Aug 5).
- First, you have been placed into your classes for the fall semester. You will complete many of your assignments online, but will attend regular classes every day.
- Second, you will notice your Program fee B ($300) is due on Aug 9, before classes begin. Beginning in September, the program fee is due on the first of each month and can by paid by check or online through your Populi account.
Textbooks
Here is a list of required textbooks for the fall semester. Please order your textbooks for the fall semester ASAP using an online book seller (Amazon.com is one good option). You only need to order your fall semester books right now. Many textbooks can be ordered “used” to keep the costs down and many books are no longer available new. Order them soon so that they arrive before you depart for Charlotte. You should bring your textbooks with you when you come.

Q. For the Feast of Tabernacles, are the students required to go to the assigned site of the Charlotte congregation, or can they go with their family’s site of choice?
A. Technically, they are still considered part of their family, so they are welcome to go to the FOT with their family.
